The Hill Country Newcomers Club welcomes you to your new community. We are excited to have the opportunity to introduce you to the people, customs, and fun we have in this beautiful area. We hope lasting friendships will enrich your daily life.

Two women living in a local hotel started the Hill Country Newcomers Club in 1976. While awaiting construction of their new homes, Pat Allen and Peggy Basham placed an article in the local newspaper, The Boerne Star. They invited interested women to meet with them in a business building in the Live Oak Shopping Center. Thirty excited women attended and the club was off and growing.

As you go through your period of "nest building", seek out the experienced shoppers and references for the craftsmen you need. When you get more established, the restaurant connoisseurs, antique gurus and multitudes of activities are available to fill your every waking moment. You are encouraged to ask questions and give your ideas for new events or improvements. This club is only effective when we meet the needs of the members.

Our monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Presbyterian Church Family Life Center in Boerne, except for special events and the vacation month of July. As a member of the Hill Country Newcomers Club you will receive a monthly newsletter that will inform you of the monthly groups available for you to join as well as special events. Some of these events give us an opportunity to include spouses and guests.

Again, welcome to the Hill Country of Texas. We all got here as fast as we could, and I am sure you did the same.
