HILL COUNTRY NEWCOMERS

Welcome to the Hill Country Newcomers Club.  Have you recently moved to the Texas Hill Country? Are you interested in making new friends and finding like-minded individuals to share activities?

In 1976 two women living in a local hotel started the Hill Country Newcomers Club.  While awaiting the construction of their new homes, Pat Allen and Peggy Basham placed an ad in the local newspaper.  They invited interested women from the area to meet with them in hopes of building lasting friendships to enrich their daily lives.  Thirty excited women attended and the club was off and running.

We are excited to have the opportunity to introduce you to the people, activities, food and fun we have in this beautiful area.  We have a variety of activities planned for all of our regular meetings as well as incredible refreshments prepared by the membership.

We offer diverse opportunities to meet neighbors and to socialize with others.  Moving to a new area can be a difficult adjustment, joining the Hill Country Newcomers Club is a good way to ease your transition.

"A Friend Is A Gift You Give Yourself"
"When moving around from place to place
You yearn to see a friendly face.
Those you left behind are hard to replace -
Friends are an investment that you make
For theirs and your own sake.
You learn from them and they from you
As nothing else on earth can do.
Now you deserve the very best
So in a friend you should invest.
Don't keep your life upon a shelf
A friend is a gift you give yourself."

Our General Meeting is held once a month on the second Monday, at 10:00 a.m. at Cibolo Nature Center, Boerne Texas.

We have many separate activities each month, something for everyone. A monthly newsletter describes all of the activities scheduled and provides detailed information on time, location, cost, and contact information. We try to keep activities affordable. Some activities occur during the day, many happen in the evening, and some on weekends. Each activity is organized by a specific "chairperson and co-chairpersons", any of which you can join. Take a look at our list of activities to give you an idea of what kinds of events occur each month.
